The hut was extended and renovated in 2004 and 2005 by the Kaiseregg and Wildhorn sections of the CAS. The old building, which dates back to 1927, has been very carefully renovated.
The highest CAS hut in the western Bernese Oberland is located on a small plateau to the west of the Weisshorn, at an altitude of 2,793m.
From up here, you can contemplate the magnificent scenery of the Rawyl region and the Wildhorn glacier.
From the hut, you can climb several mountains. It is notably a refuge for ski mountaineers, and is a stopover on the Bernese Haute Route « Les Diablerets-Gemmi-Grimsel ».
